Postpartum Checkup

I had my "6 week" appointment today (at 10 weeks PP). Luckily Will sat really well for it, because I ended up filling out paperwork for a half hour. It felt like I was in school again taking a test! It took forever and I didn't know half the answers. There were questions (and the midwife and her assistant were both asking about it while I was trying to fill it out) like back when they were discovering that I had cancer, did they give me a pap smear to help diagnose? I dunno, I was busy being traumatized by having a giant tumor and being told I had cancer! How would I remember if one of the million tests they performed on me included a pap and what the results were? I was so flustered, I couldn't remember if the mathematical symbol ">" meant greater than or less than, and very nearly marked that I had more than 10 sexual partners (yeah, that would have been a little awkward!)

The good news though is I am at a good weight (now down to 128 lbs fully clothed), everything healed up fine and looks normal, and the midwife said I am already getting my abs back when she checked, which she said is a great sign.

They also wanted to know about how the breastfeeding was going. They asked if I was sore or had any nipple problems, which I said no to, and then they asked if I was having any difficulties or a low supply. Half way through her question though, the midwife noticed Will and said "oh...he's got to be like 13 lbs already, isn't he?" I told her that when he was checked a little over a week ago, he was a little over 15 lbs. Her eyes bulged a bit and then said "I guess we'll just skip over the nursing difficulty questions, you're obviously not having any!" It's the same thing the pediatrician said when she saw his weight. Will is one chunky monkey!
