The baby had his baptism yesterday! I'm so sad that I forgot to get a picture of Katie all dressed up, and I even had to go home and get a picture of Will in his makeshift outfit as I was totally not thinking about pictures. Luckily Bill thought to ask his step dad to get pictures for us during the ceremony or we'd have nothing!
In his makeshift outfit (we ran all over everywhere to try and find a real outfit
as I didn't want to risk ordering online with his inbetween size, but everyone discontinued
their baptism outfits last year) on top of his new blankie his godmother gave him!
His pre-baptism outfit (there was a white matching sweater that went over it as well).
With how much this kiddo spits up, I didn't want to risk him messing up his white outfit
early, so I gave him two complete back up outfits for the morning!
While it wasn't as fancy as Katie's long baptism with a full congregation, it probably was for the best. While Katie was good and stayed content through her baptism and only got fussy afterwards during the confirmation, Will was NOT happy to be in the ten minute ceremony that he had. He slept through the mass and woke up right before the baptism - so even though he was well fed before, he was looking for his wake up meal and maybe a nice stroll as well. Waking up to sitting in a pew was not what he was after at all, and he proclaimed it loudly! Meanwhile Katie didn't want to sit in the pews either and decided to go run around, and when she was caught, she protested loudly as well. Once the baby was actually getting baptized though and the water was poured over his head, he calmed down. He does love his baths, so I guess he thought that's what was going on! Once he thought his hair was nice and washed, he laid down on my chest and fell asleep. After feeding him in the car, he was happy again and by the time we got home, he was fast asleep. He slept in his swing for about three hours while we ate cupcakes and socialized and opened his gifts.
