There's so much to write that I've been holding it off, but I should get it done before tomorrow comes and starts a new week!
This was a great week, and I can't believe it went so fast. I've just been so busy that it feels like I've only been 18 weeks for 2-3 days, instead of it being over in just another two hours!
Friday was a crazy day of baking, decorating, and making everything in the house perfect. I scrubbed the bathroom, cleaned Katie's room, mopped the floors, made food, did dishes, put up last minute decorations and basically was on my feet nonstop, sort of like I was the entire week.
Saturday was our BIG DAY! It went so fast, between seeing the first glimpse of our sleepy, adorable little boy, to going to the store and buying tons of It's A Boy balloons and trying to get them home. Then it was a series of finishing those last minute details now that we knew who we were expecting, and taking time to enjoy our growing family. I can't quite say enough how much I enjoyed going to a special place to find out the gender! It's dangerous now, because i said after we have a boy and a girl (not thinking we'd get them both so soon! lol) that we could stop finding out the gender, but wow did I enjoy going to the baby preview place! I totally want to do that every week if I could, let alone every baby. Definitely worth the money.
Sunday was Katie's party (more details and many pictures on her part of the party on her blog) and the gender reveal. While I felt absolutely exhausted and everything in me was begging for a nap, and as always, I got a bit overwhelmed once it started going, it went great and it was a fun experience. It was definitely interesting to gather family and friends to all find out at once who our newest addition is!
Since then, I've been cleaning up after the party and trying to get the rest of the house that's been neglected for party stuff back to clean. This week has been absolutely exhausting though, and my body has been giving me a rough time. I'm not sure if I'm just still that exhausted from everything I did last week and the lack of sleep I had during that time, or if baby just had lots of growing this week and took a lot away. Either way, I can't get enough sleep and naps and have a hard time staying on my feet for more than twenty minutes.
Things have definitely been stretching this week. From ligaments, to sore muscles, to even feeling like my skin is stretching (yep, been putting LOTS of lotion on, as it's my old stretch marks that feel like they're being pulled - I do not want them to get bigger!). At the store today, I was so sore that I had a full on slow waddle! I feel like third tri is creeping up on me way faster than it should! This is supposed to be my good part of pregnancy! lol
I thought I had enough for baby, but now that I pull out my boy stuff, I realize that I don't. But goodness, do I have totes and totes and more totes of girl stuff! Not even just Katie's old things, but a lot of new boutique styles as well. Under all of them were my two totes of boy clothing. There's quite a bit, but most are over 6 months, so I have a few shopping trips to make, and boy am I enjoying that! The world of Blue is so new and different and I'm finding that I love it and have a hard time not grabbing everything! I already bought his first outfit to take home in, his Christmas outfit, an outfit that I just think is adorable, a diaper bag, and a teddy bear. Today I found what I think will be his bedding, and I found most of the decorations I want for fixing up the nursery boy style. I'm going to have a lot of fun with this!
Besides clothing, I have quite a bit of stuff for this little boy. I have two swings - one big one and one small one, a lot of blankets from receiving to fluffy, my moses basket that's been patiently waiting for over a year already, a back up brown and blue diaper bag (though I don't think it's big enough to fit two kids' things in it, which is why we bought a roomier one) the pack and plays that are both gender neutral but I never used at all with Katie, and bibs (which I also didn't use much with Katie). So I just need lots of boy clothing yet and I should be set!
Oh, and here are some pictures I did for announcing this little boy:
