This pregnancy is really hitting me hard with all the symptoms, especially this weekend! I nearly didn't get out of bed this morning, between getting sick before even opening my eyes, having bad back pain and feeling crampy from the round ligaments stretching too much. But, I had to get out of bed because Katie wanted only me, and we had to go grocery shopping. Turns out grocery shopping wasn't the best idea for today, as I ended up throwing up in public. I'm now sporting an awesome mask of broken blood vessels - I'm pretty sure this is the worst it's ever gotten. I broke them EVERYWHERE. Pretty much from my forehead to my jaw and under my chin. Even my ears! I had to go in the store all red faced and feeling like i was on fire on top of the purple freckles. Ugh, I have no idea what people must have thought was wrong with me, but I was quite the sight! That, and I forgot to take out my makeshift bun (I put it up about two seconds before I started throwing up) so the ends of my hair were sticking out all over. Yikes.
My belly has stayed upset all day and throwing up gave me a good sore throat. Just last night, I was saying that this pregnancy is really kicking my butt big time. I have a hell of a time getting up two flights of stairs now, my right leg always is giving out unexpectedly (which I why I barely carry Katie anymore), my pelvis has horrible sharp stabbing pain and my tailbone aches. My back hurts, my round ligaments are telling me all the time that they're stretching, and my belly hurts from using those puke muscles. I'm only in first trimester, but starting to feel like I did when I was in third with Katie. I ache for second trimester, but I honestly only think it's going to get worse. If I can stop puking, I think I can look at the other pains a little nicer.
I got out some of my pregnancy frustrations by having a day of shopping yesterday. I haven't done that much shopping in years, and it was really fun! Bill and I both needed new shoes and a few summer clothes, so we headed to Ross's where I FINALLY found a reasonably priced maxi skirt in the style I wanted. I also found some cute sandals in my size, so I can finally stop wearing my freaking winter boots now! The only shoes that fit me currently are my Disney Cruise flip flips, my boots and now these new shoes. With pregnancy making me unbalanced and have a weird stride, I don't like wearing my flip flops as they tend to just fall off or go flying. Every pregnancy, I tend to need pregnancy shoes of some sort!
We also went to Party City, where I got half of the toys and treats for the Party Goodie Bags and some decorations that were much cheaper than online. I'm nearly done buying at this point, and I've been working on slowly working on decorations and things needed for the party. Yep, it's over a month away but there's SO much to get done that I need to start preparing now!
After that, we grabbed swim diapers and sun block and went swimming! There's nothing so amazing as the pool while pregnant, it feels so amazing. Every single pregnancy ache just disappears in the water. Katie loved it too, she giggled and splashed and did not want to get out (she wailed when Bill finally took her out of the water, all pruney and wet!) Luckily she can still fit in her canopy floater, which will help me out when Bill isn't there. I hope to get her at least near swimming by the end of the summer, but we're easing slowly in.
In other news...the second tri count down continues! Only three more days! After that, I'll have to count down to my next appointment at 16 weeks, and my ultrasound at 20 weeks. Wow, saying that makes it feel so close already! Three weeks until one of them, and four weeks after that for the other.
I need to get to bed, I'm FINALLY going to the eye doctor in the morning to finally get new glasses.
